Georgia Mantas
In 2000, Georgia completed an Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto, in Human Biology, Sociology, Statistics, and Zoology. In her undergraduate years, she had the opportunity to work alongside Professor Jones, in preparing a paper for the Canadian government entitled “Gender Differences in Child Outcomes as Shown in the First Three Cycles of the NLSCY (National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth)”.
She went on to Niagara University, where she received a Masters of Science in Education, in 2006. Her thesis examined various causes of poor academic outcomes for female students in the fields of sciences and mathematics. Her teachable subjects include sciences (biology and chemistry), mathematics, and social sciences.
What she loves most about teaching at Don Valley Academy is the school's commitment to community. She feels that this is most evident in their philosophy of partnering with colleagues and parents, to ensure that our students benefit from their educational experience at Don Valley Academy.
In her spare time, Georgia is a dance instructor and dance choreographer. She also performs and competes at various functions, as a dancer with Levendia X Hellenic Folklore Association, a Greek dance group.
